Kellie Martin is an American film and television actress most well-known for her performances in the roles of Christy Huddleston on the historical drama'Christy Christy', Rebecca Thatcher in the Life Goes On, a family-oriented drama The Life Goes On', and Lucy Knight in the medical drama 'ER'. Also, she is known for playing the title role in the "Hailey Dean Mystery" series. Martin is the daughter of a department store seller and a kindergarten teacher started her career as an actress at age seven. Her aunt who served as the nanny of Michael Landon's kids assisted Martin land a role in 1981's series "Father Murphy". After graduating from Yale University, she took acting more seriously, and eventually landed significant roles both on the smaller and big screen. Martin, besides acting, she is also a skilled photographer and ballet dancer. The mother of two daughters Martin is the Lupus ambassador and has been spreading awareness about the condition every day since the death of her sister when she was age 19.
